Seasons of Sharing Fund
The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund provides temporary assistance to help people living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties. Over the last 33 years, the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund has distributed $138 million to help individuals and families in need.
Community Crisis Support
Created in response to the devastating 2017 wildfires that overtook Sonoma County, the Disaster Relief Housing Assistance department (DRHA), has since evolved to include new crises and the pandemic that have emerged in Sonoma County. Now renamed the Community Crisis Support department, it provides a variety of programs and services to families who are experiencing or have experienced an unexpected crisis that sets them back financially. Services include covid pandemic relief, utility assistance, and rent and mortgage assistance. Specific eligibility qualifications and verifications must be met depending on the type of assistance requested.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
There are many low-income families in Sonoma County that cannot afford to have their taxes done due to the high cost of professional tax preparers. VITA exists to help these Sonoma County families have their taxes done by providing free and 100% secure income tax service.
H2O Water Program Assistance
Help 2 Others (H20) program provides financial assistance and water-use efficiency improvement for individuals having difficulty paying their water bills.
