Family Resource Centers

A family resource center (FRC) is a community or school-based welcoming hub of support, services, and opportunities for families that: 1) Utilizes an approach that is multi-generational, strengths-based, and family-centered; 2) Reflects and is responsive to community needs and interests; 3) Provides support at no or low cost for participants; 5) Builds communities of peer support for families to develop social connections that reduce isolation and stress 

What do FRCs do?

Family Resource Centers offer support by helping parents, families, and children locate and use services within their communities. Their services can include parent groups, sibling support groups, resource libraries, classes, and play groups. They also can provide referral information for family visitation services, food and clothing banks, and more.
